CHAIRMAN'S REPORT. AGM MONDAY 24TH NOVEMBER 2008. Welcome to our Annual General Meeting of 2008. We look back on a very successful year both on and off the field in 2008.A Year in which we won 6 North Cork Titles and two Tournaments.We won at U11 Hurling & Football,U 12 Hurling and Football,U14 Hurling & Minor Football, along with the Cheese Strings U 8 Tournament and the Ballyhea U10 Hurling Tournament ,we also contested a number of other Finals losing out narrowly in most of them,. We catered for Children from ages 6 to 18 and I want to thank all the players for their tremoudous efforts during the year.Success on the field just does not happen it takes a tremendous effort from all our coaches and players who give up their time on a voluntary basis to help the Club.I want to put on record my Thanks on behalf of Sean Clarachs to all the Coaches who worked so hard during the year to deliver the Success we have already spoken about.I want to Thank Pat Herbert &, Pat Buckley for Looking after the U8'S And winning our End of Year Cheese Strings Tournament.I Want to thank Jerry Hawe,John O Brien ,Noel O Keeffe and Paul Buckley for coaching the U10 and congratulate them on winning the Ballyhea Tournamnet and the North Cork U10 Ground Hurling Our Club also provided Selectors for Avondhu and we congratulate John Moloney and Mossie Fitzgibbon on this honour. We also had a number of players represented at both Avondhu and Cork and all were honoured lately at our presentation nights.Which were both an outstanding success and I would like to thank Both James Foley and Pat Buckley for presenting the medals and Shane Liddy of Supermacs Main St Charleville for Sponsoring the food on both nights. After such a successful year with the efforts of all these people I say thank you once again and I can see the Club building on this success in 2009 with the help of all these coaches once again. Off the Field the committee worked very hard to move the Club forward and some very successful ventures were carried out in 2008.. . We took 86 players to Croke Park to see the Cork Double Header in August and I want to thank all the Mentors who travelled on the Day and compliment the lads on their behaviour. The Club also purchased a Defibillator and this will invaluable to the Club over the years to come and a number of people have been trained on the use of it. We provided a First aid Training Course for some of our Coaches. We also held some Coaching sessions for our coaches and a lot of them attended training courses at various venues.. Our Summer Camp was once again an outstanding success. Our Club Website www.seanclarachs.com continues to provide a vital information tool for the club and we thank Paudie O Connell for providing and maintaining this site for us.
Sponsorship. I would like to Thank Cavanaghs Of Charleville for their Invaluable Sponsorship during the year . Other Sponsors that Helped us were Lee's Centra, Supermacs, & IEG Webdesign for Sponsoring our Club Website.Without all these people's help we could not perform as well as we do. I would also like to Thank Both Rugby and Soccer Clubs in Charleville for their Co Operation in arranging Fixtures. Committee; I want to Thank the Juvenile Committee for all the Help and support they gave me in 2008 and also for all the hard work they put in on behalf of the Gaa in Charleville.Each officer and committee member put in a vast amount of work to help run the club and I want to thank them for that. I especially want to Thank Our Secretary Tadgh O Connell for all his work during the year and congratulate him on a Job well done once again.To our Treasurer Kevin who kept and eye on all Finacial matters and for his successful running of weekly Club Lotto.At this point I also want to thank all those who sold or bought Lotto Tickets and to all those who manned the lotto on Sunday Nights.To our agents Olive Herbert, David Queally & Maurice O Brien thank you .I also want to thank Kevin and Tadgh for organising the Flag Day and thank all who manned tables and supported the Flag day. I want to thank our PRO and Vice Chairman John Moloney for his help and support.Always available to help out and his weekly notes in the paper were always there and indeed they are the envy of many a club. To Mossie Fitzgibbon for attending the bi weekly North Cork Board meetings. To Mossie Fitzgibbon for referring all matches on behalf of the club. I would also like to Thanks Mike Keane, Chairman Rathluirc Gaa, Donie Forde For use of field Jim O Callaghan for having sportscentre available to us at all Times. Congratulate Junior Team on their Success Last Year, Coach Pat Buckley for all the work with Juvenile Club. I would like to Thank you for the opportunity of being Chairman and wish Incoming Officers and Committee all the best for the coming year. Sean Clarachs Juvenile Club also played an Important role in the Overall Gaa in Charleville as we have members and both Executive and Sponsorship committees of Rathluirc Gaa.The juvenile Club is also playing it's part in the Future of the Gaa in Charleville as we have members on the Implemantation Group that will provide the Development Plan for the Future of the Gaa in Charleville. This plan will be a point of focus in the coming months when a lot of different ideas will be implemented all for the better of the overall Gaa Organisation in Charleville.
